Development of the National Qualifications System Discussed
Publication date: 31.07.2026 19:51:28A two-day seminar-training dedicated to the development of professional qualifications in the fields of mining, geology, and mineral resources was organized jointly by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, and the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System.
The event, held at the University of Geological Sciences, brought together representatives of ministries, sectoral scientific and educational institutions, as well as specialists from leading enterprises of the industry, including representatives of JSC “Uzbekcoal”.
During the seminar, participants discussed the implementation of the National Qualifications System, adaptation of occupational and qualification requirements to modern production needs, improvement of employee training, retraining and professional development systems, as well as the development of dual education and strengthening cooperation between enterprises and educational institutions.
During the event, Umаrova, Deputy Head of the Human Resources Management and Development Department of JSC “Uzbekcoal”, delivered a presentation on developing human resources potential in the industry, enhancing employees’ professional competencies, and improving the qualification system.
In addition, specialists from JSC “Uzbekcoal” actively participated in discussions and shared their proposals and views on developing professional skills, training personnel in line with production requirements, and improving the effectiveness of practice-oriented education.
Following the seminar, priority tasks were identified for training qualified specialists for mining enterprises, developing employees’ professional skills, and building a talent pool.
