New priorities set for the development of critical minerals industry
Publication date: 15.06.2026 20:44:37On June 15, 2026, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on expanding the raw material base of critical minerals and developing the production of high value-added products.
The presentation outlined plans to implement 120 projects worth a total of USD 4.2 billion as part of the 2026–2030 development program. These projects are expected to increase industry output, expand the production of high-tech products, and strengthen the country’s export potential.
This year, 12 projects with a total value of USD 166 million are scheduled to be launched. As a result, the production of new types of metals and import-substituting products will be established, while creating additional employment opportunities.
Special attention was given to expanding geological exploration activities, accelerating digital transformation, introducing artificial intelligence technologies, and promoting research and innovation.
The Head of State emphasized that the development of the critical minerals sector is essential for enhancing economic competitiveness, increasing exports, and fostering new industrial sectors.
