Environmental safety is becoming a priority
Publication date: 22.05.2026 15:01:58By Presidential Decree no. PF–46 dated march 25, 2026, the nationwide “Clean air” project aimed at improving atmospheric air quality was approved in Uzbekistan. The document is of great importance in strengthening environmental control and introducing modern management systems in the fields of ecology, industry, energy, construction, and transport.
According to the decree, key objectives until 2030 include reducing atmospheric pollutant emissions, decreasing the concentration of harmful PM2.5 particles, expanding the use of dust and gas cleaning equipment, and installing automatic monitoring systems at category I and II enterprises.
These requirements primarily call for strengthening environmental safety at mining and industrial enterprises, including the production facilities of joint stock company “Uzbekcoal”. In accordance with the decree, thermal and energy-producing enterprises are required to install automatic monitoring stations, monitor the efficiency of dust and gas cleaning systems, and integrate environmental data into a unified geo-information database.
New mechanisms have also been introduced for implementing energy-efficient technologies, modernizing dust and gas cleaning equipment, and expanding environmental monitoring systems. This will help ensure environmental safety in production processes while reducing negative impacts on atmospheric air.
The decree also strengthens environmental requirements in the transport and construction sectors. Measures such as “Car-free day”, the introduction of ecological sticker systems, and a gradual transition to Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards are envisaged.
This decree serves as an important legal foundation for the digitalization of environmental control, increasing the environmental responsibility of industrial enterprises, and implementing the principles of a “green economy”.
At the same time, every employee and specialist within JSC “Uzbekcoal” should be aware of these updates in environmental legislation and strictly comply with the established requirements and standards. Protecting the environment, preventing air pollution, and ensuring environmental safety are important responsibilities of every organization and employee.
