A new composition of the Public Council under JSC “Uzbekcoal” has been formed. The new members were selected based on the results of an open competition conducted in accordance with the established procedure.

During the formation of the Public Council, the main selection criteria included candidates’ sector-specific knowledge and qualifications, professional experience, public activity, civic position, and skills in engaging with the public.

Following the results of the competition, the new composition of the Public Council was approved, consisting of 15 members representing independent experts, mass media, non-governmental non-profit organizations, and the public.

On July 30, 2026, the first organizational meeting of the Public Council was held at JSC “Uzbekcoal”. The meeting was attended by Council members, heads of structural divisions of the company’s executive office and branches, representatives of mass media, and members of the public.

During the meeting, N. Dusmatov, General Director of JSC “Uzbekcoal”, delivered a welcoming speech and congratulated the newly formed composition of the Public Council.

In his speech, he emphasized the important role of the Council in ensuring openness and transparency of the company’s activities, improving public oversight mechanisms, and developing cooperation with civil society institutions.

During the meeting, Council members were provided with information on their powers and responsibilities, and organizational issues were discussed.

Following the voting results, Abdurashid Hasanov — Deputy Director for Technology at the Innovation Production and Implementation Center of JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, Academician of the World Mining Academy, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor — was elected Chairman of the Public Council.

Oybek Korakulov, Chairman of the Angren City Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, was elected Deputy Chairman of the Council, while Ayubdunadir Nosirov, a professional public relations specialist of the Information Service of JSC “Uzbekcoal”, was elected Secretary of the Council.

Following this, the first working meeting of the Public Council was held under the chairmanship of Abdurashid Hasanov.

During the meeting, the Council’s work plan was approved, and priority tasks were identified aimed at effectively organizing public oversight, monitoring the openness and transparency of the company’s activities, and further developing dialogue with citizens and civil society institutions.

The Public Council carries out its activities on the basis of current legislation, the Regulation on the Public Council under JSC “Uzbekcoal”, and the company’s internal regulatory documents, while adhering to the principles of openness, transparency, and impartiality.
