Uzbek Language Day: a combination of practice and spirituality
Publication date: 10.10.2025 18:01:26At “Uzbekcoal” JSC, a series of practical events are being held in honor of Uzbek Language Day.
Every year, October 21 is widely celebrated across our country as Uzbek Language Day. This date has left an indelible mark in our nation’s history as the day when our mother tongue was granted the status of a state language. Adopted 36 years ago, the Law “On the State Language” marked a new stage in the spiritual development of independent Uzbekistan.
At “O‘zbekcoal” JSC, consistent efforts are being made to further enhance the culture of conducting official correspondence in the state language, and to strengthen every employee’s sense of respect and responsibility toward their native language.
On the initiative of the company’s management, systematic work has been launched to strengthen the role of the Uzbek language as the state language and to improve the effective use of Uzbek terminology in official documents and professional activities. For this purpose, Order No. 387 dated September 9, 2025, was issued. Shortly thereafter, on September 29, another internal document was adopted in connection with the 36th anniversary of granting the Uzbek language state status, and a special working group was established.
The working group includes responsible employees of the executive office — D.R. Ziyaev, Sh.B. Khasanov, D.B. Abdurakhmonov, D.D. Mirzakulova, A.F. Isroilov, and N.A. Dushaev. At present, the group members are carrying out inspections and analytical studies at the company’s central office and all its branches according to an established schedule.
As part of these activities, the compliance of official documents, signs, media texts, announcements, and warning boards with the norms of the state language and the Uzbek alphabet based on the Latin script is being reviewed. The working group provides necessary recommendations to eliminate identified shortcomings.
During the process, special attention is drawn to the fact that using the state language in official work should be seen not only as a legal requirement but also as a reflection of patriotism and cultural awareness. Regular monitoring and educational discussions have been proposed in this regard.
The Uzbek language is the pride of our people and an important symbol of our nation’s sovereignty.
Conducting official correspondence in the state language is a constitutional duty of every employee and an indicator of their spiritual culture and discipline.
The team of “Uzbekcoall” JSC warmly congratulates all colleagues on Uzbek Language Day and calls on everyone to strictly observe the norms of the Uzbek language in every official document and communication — thereby contributing to the elevation of its prestige and status.
