In connection with May 9 – the Day of Memory and Honor and the 81th anniversary of the Great Victory in World War II, spiritual and educational events are being held across the country.
Today, a wreath-laying ceremony took place at the foot of the “Grieving Mother” memorial in Angren city. Labor veterans, activists, members of the public, and the management of JSC “Uzbekcoal” took part in the event.
Led by Deputy General Director and Chief Engineer of JSC “Uzbekcoal” V.V. Kuznetsov, participants honored the memory of compatriots who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the Motherland and the peace of the country, laying flowers at the memorial.
As noted during the event, among the hundreds of thousands who fought for the freedom of the homeland during World War II were also residents of Angren and the ancestors of miners. The bravery and dedication shown not only on the battlefield but also on the labor front will forever remain in the memory of the people.
Special tribute was paid to the miners of the first coal mines in the Angren coal basin, whose selfless work during difficult wartime years made a significant contribution to supporting the country’s economy.
Such events held on the Day of Memory and Honor play an important role in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, respect for national values, and loyalty to the memory of ancestors.
